Who Is Covered?
This program provides protection for your Martial Arts School or Studio, owners, directors, instructors and employees against claims of bodily injury liability, property damage liability and the litigation costs to defend against such claims.

What are the General Liability Policy Limits?

  • $1,000,000 Per Occurrence
  • $3,000,000 Policy Aggregate
  • $1,000,000 Products and Completed Operations
  • $1,000,000 Personal and Advertising Injury
  • $300,000 Fire Damage to Premises for any one fire
  • $500 Deductible per Claim

The “Aggregate Limit” is the most the policy will pay as a result of all occurrences during the policy term

What does the coverage include?
Coverage includes protection for suits arising out of:

  • Injury or death of participants, spectators, or volunteers
  • Property damage liability
  • Incidental medical malpractice
  • Host Liquor Liability (nonprofit)
  • All activities necessary to conduct of activities
  • Ownership use or maintenance of gyms, fields or school areas
  • General negligence claims
  • Corporal Punishment
  • Cost of investigation and defense of claims, even if groundless

Additional Insureds such as landlords can be added at no additional charge.

What is excluded or considered an ineligible sport/activity?
The General Liability Insurance Plan excludes (and is not limited to) the following acts from coverage: Assault & Battery, Employment Related Practices, Professional Liability, Total Pollution, Collapse of Temporary Structure, Fireworks/Pyrotechnics, Use of Trampolines over 46 inches in diameter, Inflatable Devices, Gymnastics, Cheerleading Pyramids over 2 1/2 persons high, Skin & Scuba Diving, Snow Skiing, Water Skiing, Motor Sports, Rodeo or any Equestrian Related Sports, Polo, Mountain Climbing, Rock or Climbing Walls, Watersides, Ballooning, Parachuting, Sale/Manufacture/Distribution of Athletic Equipment, Use of Saunas or Tanning Devices, Parades.

Is there a Release and Waiver requirement?

Each Policyholder must keep on file a current completed and signed Release and Waiver of Liability/Informed Consent for each athletic participant prior to the participation in any Policyholder activity. Policyholders are responsible for distributing forms to their athletic participants and maintaining completed forms for simultaneous delivery at the time of notice of an athletic participant’s injury claim. Provided you have implemented such procedures and you are unable to secure and provide such “release” despite your best efforts, you must assume and pay the first $2,500 of each occurrence (including supplemental payments) resulting in an “athletic participant” legal liability claims. “Athletic participant” means players, coaches, managers, stage members, team workers, officials and volunteers who have been granted proper authorization to enter any “sponsored events.”

What is the Premium?

Optional Liability Coverages Available as an Endorsement to the General Liability Policy

Hired & Non-Owned Auto – Policy Limit $1,000,000
Bodily injury or property damage on vehicles leased, hired, rented, borrowed and other non-owned vehicles driven while on the business of the policyholder

Dishonesty Bond – Policy Limit $25,000:
Losses suffered through theft by an organization’s President, Secretary, Treasurer, Concession Chairman or Fund Raising Chairman while engaging in activities of the policyholder

Inland Marine (Contents & Equipment Coverage) – Available limits are $5000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 or $25,000

Loss or damage of all sports equipment, concession stand equipment and miscellaneous property. A roster of equipment is required.
